#6 - Self-print Postcard From Taiwan (ROC)

TAIWAN (a.k.a Republic of China (中華民國) or Formosa) is a state in East Asia. Originally based in mainland China, the Republic of China now governs the island of Taiwan, which makes up over 99% of its territory, as well as Penghu, Kinmen, Matsu, and other minor islands. Neighboring states include the People's Republic of China to the west, Japan to the east and northeast, and the Philippines to the south.

The capital city of Taiwan is Taipei. Taipei is the seat of the central government. New Taipei, encompassing the metropolitan area surrounding Taipei proper, is the most populous city. The island of Taiwan (formerly known as "Formosa". Formosa is the Portuguese name of Taiwan, which means "beautiful" in Portuguese) was mainly inhabited by Taiwanese aborigines until the Dutch and Spanish settlement during the Age of Discovery in the 17th century, when ethnic Chinese began immigrating to the island.

This nice postcard was sent by Alice Lin (LuckyHouse0619) from Taiwan on 26 December 2013.
