#13 - National Flag of India

INDIA (भारत) is the seventh-largest country in the world and the second-most populous country with over 1.2 billion people. The capital city is New Delhi and the largest city is Mumbai.

Postcard : India national flag is to be made of Khadi. The colour of the top panel is saffron, middle white, and bearing at Ashoka Chakra in navy blue colour with 24 spokes and the bottom panel is green.

My first postcard from INDIA. I received this postcard on 19 February 2014.
Actually, on that day, I received 2 postcards from India. But, this national flag card is WRITTEN in ENVELOPE and the other card is WRITTEN and STAMPED.

So, I think this is my first 'written-envelope' card from INDIA. Haha :)

आपको बहुत बहुत धन्यवाद Veeraiah, for sending me this beautiful card!

You are most welcome dear Vivian Ibra! I really appreciate your distinctive efforts for designing of this superior blog.

India is home to the ancient Indus Valley Civilization and a region of historic trade routes and vast empires, the Indian subcontinent was identified with its commercial and cultural wealth for much of its long history. Four world religions—Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism—originated from here.

The Indian national flag is based on the Swaraj flag, a flag of the Indian National Congress designed by Pingali Venkayya. The saffron color represents courage and sacrifice; white – truth, peace and purity; green – prosperity; and the Ashok Chakra represents the Laws of Dharma (righteousness).
